Halloween Inspiration

This weekend, we'll all be dressing up as our favourite creepy character.  We've raided the Folie vaults to bring you some gothic doll inspiration.

I created this look on one of the performers at our launch night event. It's an easy look to recreate - most of you make-up lovers will already have this stuff on your dressing table!

Start by mixing a light foundation/concealer in with your base.  I used Illamasqua Rich Liquid Foundation 100.  Concentrate it at the middle of your face (nose, eyes) and buff out.  This will give you the ghostly complexion without the hard edges that make it look like a mask.

Take a pale blue eyeshadow and generously apply all around the eye area.  Take a darker blue and concentrate the colour closer in to the lashes under the eye and on top.  Take it into the eye socket and blend towards the brow bone.  I used Illamasqua Powder Eyeshadows in Anja (my fave blue) and Victim.  Using a bright highlighter (I used Illamasqua Pure Pigment in Breathe), highlight the brow bone and the cheekbone.  Next, add to the deathly pallor by hollowing out the cheekbones using a grey.  I used Bobbi Brown 'Gunmetal'.  Add a pop of pink on to the apples of the cheeks in a circle - not too much blending - and then finish using a dusting of glitter on top (I raided my toddlers craft box)!

Using the same glitter, apply generously under eyes.  Then draw on some lashes coming down the cheeks using a liquid black eyeliner (Illamasqua Precision Ink Abyss) and some false lashes on top.

For the lips, I used a combination of two Illamasqua favourite lipsticks; Kontrol and Posture.  Hmmm, any idea what my favourite make-up brand could be?!

Happy Halloween folks xx
